Sunday, 26th Jan., 2025: 76th Republic Day of India was celebrated in Sadashivrao Mandlik College. On this occasion, Prof. Mahadev Benke , Prof. Pandurang Sarang, Vice–Principal Prof. Dr. Uday Shinde , Prof. Dr. Mahadev Koli , non-teaching employee Mr. Sanjay Bharmal, Physical Education Director Prof. Dr. Shivaji Powar NCC Department Head -ANO- Lieutenant Prof. Vinodkumar Pradhan, all the college staff, students, NCC cadets and their parents were present when I/C Prin. Dr. Shivaji Hodage hoisted the flag.
After that, the NCC cadets presented a brilliant silent drill on the college grounds, which delighted the audience. The program was reviewed by Lieutenant Prof. Pradhan. The drill was led by NCC senior cadets Sushant Masvekar , Aditya Tehsildar , Prithviraj Patil. The silent drill concluded with the NCC song.
After this, in the college auditorium, B.A. Part 2 Ms. Prachi Kalamkar and Ms. Payal Gote , B.Com. Part 2 Ms. Shreya Kumbhar, B.Sc. Part 3 Mr. Pranav Kamble, Nursing B.Sc. Part 1 Mr. Mayur Shinde won the hearts of all present by presenting patriotic songs and poetry recitations in English , Marathi and Hindi.
On this occasion, Prof. Ms. Tejaswini Gurav presented a science song. Physical Education Director Prof. Dr. Shivaji Powar appealed that Republic Day and Independence Day are national festivals and should be celebrated with 100 percent attendance in schools and colleges without considering them as holidays. Prof. Pandurang Sarang expressed his views on behalf of the professors retiring from the college at the prescribed age. Vice–Principal Prof. Dr. Uday Shinde asserted that all teachers , students and people at various levels of society should come together to celebrate these festivals and try to raise their stature.
NCC Department Head Lieutenant Prof. Pradhan appealed to the students to consider every program in the college as an opportunity to express themselves for their all-round development and participate in it. I/C Principal Dr. Hodge, in his presidential address, said that this year’s Republic Day was celebrated in a unique and unforgettable way. He praised the NCC cadets for drawing rangoli , writing on plaques , saluting them , and performing silent drill. He congratulated the students who expressed their feelings. He also wished all the retiring professors and class IV employees a healthy and prosperous life.
For Republic Day, CQMH Aditya Tehsildar drew a beautiful Rangoli , while Cadet Pratiksha Parit wrote a beautiful plaque. The program was moderated by Prof. Shri Sushant Patil , while the vote of thanks was given by Prof. D. V. Gore of Political Science.
THE DEPARTMENT OF NCC of our college celebrated Indian Army Day today. Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Lieutenant General Codandera M. Cariappa’s (later who became Field Marshal) taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Francis Roy Bucher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949. The day is celebrated in the form of parades and other military shows in the national capital New Delhi as well as in all headquarters. On 15 January 2023, India celebrated its 75th Indian Army Day in Bengaluru. Army Day marks a day to salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens.
I/C Prin. Dr. S.M. Hodage and Vice-Prin. Dr. U.R. Shinde offered garland to the image of Hon. K.M. Cariappa. Prin. Dr. Hodage congratulated NCC department for commemorating such inspirational personalities. This will ignite NCC cadets to serve the nation. Hence, such days must be celebrated, he said. ANO Lt. V.A. Pradhan told importance of the day in his introduction. Vice-Prin. Dr. Shinde appreciated cadets and ANO for their efforts to keep the respect for nation which has become need of time. Second year NCC cadet Gayatri Masavekar anchored the programme and Cdt Aruna Repe welcomed all the dignitaries while Cdt Shriganesh Gurav gave away vote of thank of the programme. Cdt Pratiksha Parit decorated the Black Board for the programme. All NCC cadets, Teaching, Non-teaching staff and college students were present for the programme.

CELEBRATING 78TH INDEPENDENCE DAY IN THE COLLEGE
In Sadashivrao Mandlik Mahavidyalaya organizes number of activities every year under the NCC department for the all-round development of students of NCC. One of them, Tree Plantation Program on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Jayanti was celebrated in the college on Wednesday 26th June 2024. The plants were distributed among the staff members and NCC cadets and were planted at their proper sights. The program was welcomed and introduced by Lt. Prof. V.A. Pradhan. The in-charge principal of the college I/C Principal Dr. Hodage said Chh. Shahu Maharaj was the great king giving importance to nature which is why he build number of water reservoirs in Kolhapur district along with dams. Vote of thanks was given away by Prof. D.A. Sardesai, Head, Dept. of Geography and ERC. NCC Department Head Lt. Prof. Vinodkumar Pradhan, Prof. Dr. Koli, Prof. Mrs. Patil, Prof. Dr. Shinde, Prof. Dr. Sohsni, Prof. Diwan, cadets of NCC, and all the staff and students of the college were present for this program.
