About HASA:

This is an innovative concept by the Principal of our college, Dr. A.D. Kumbhar. ‘Kuni na raho durbal adnya, Yaachsathi ha shikshan yadnya’ is the motto of our institution. It means ‘No one should be left illiterate and (educationally) weak, Hence is this sacred fire.’ This association works for those students who are unable to reach their goals due their poor economical conditions. HASA helps them to uplift. The students have to undergo a common entrance test (CET). The process of getting into HASA is as under:

The ambitious students have to apply for this in the prescribed admission form. After admission process, students are informed through notices in notice board and class to class notice circulation about WHAT IS HASA. A question paper of 100 marks containing each question of 2 marks based on General Knowledge is generated with OMR sheet. After CET merit list is displayed. A panel conducts interview of the meritorious students. These selected students are given a different coloured Identity Card than other students in the college, extra library card, they are given opportunity to be volunteer at the programmes organized in the college. They are facilitated with the lectures of renowned personalities from various fields such as, music, acting, political leaders, writers and poets. Students are guided and trained in stage daring, organizing a programme with all its protocols. The students in it are given preference to participate in the seminars, workshops, conferences etc. organized in other colleges under Shivaji and other Universities too. Personality Development, Development of Communication Skills like Reading and Writing, Awareness regarding Social and Environmental issues, Book Reviews and Study Tour are the activities undertaken for the overall development of the students in HASA.
