Rural Journalism and Mass Communication
This course has been started in the college since 2018. Life Long Learning and Extension Department of Shivaji University, Kolhapur has approved and recognised this course. This course is open for all the students who have passed SSC exam from any board and from any faculty. Till today in rural area print media is working very effectively. Most of the rural issues and problems are very widely discussed through this media. Prominent rural youths have large scope in this sector. Primary and essential knowledge journalism especially in rural area is disseminated through this course. During this course the students have to face 80 marks written and 40 marks practical examination. The course duration is six months. First batch of 21 students is passed out. Some field visits are arranged to give practical exposure to the students enrolled. This course has recorded very good results. Prof. Dr.S.M.Hodage( Department of Marathi) is working as course coordinator. Eminent reporters of local news papers i.e. Mr. Bhairavnath Davari (Daily Kesari), Mr. Madhukar Bhosale (Regional Editor, Daily Pudhari), Mr. Mahadev Kanakekar(Daily Punyanagari), Mr. Ravindra Shinde (Daily Tarun Bharat), Mr.Sunil Delekar (Daily Pudhari) are working as visiting faculty.
